FLAG ( 2006, Internet distribution, Blu-ray & DVD, 13 episodes )
A documentary-style story told from a woman photo-journalist’s point of view.

  Story

The year 20XX - A Civil war erupts in a small Asian country as
armed insurgents attack the government forces. The United Nations,
having just established the UN Forces, decides to send troops to
end the war quickly. However, the battles become aggravated and
turn to a quagmire.

A photograph taken accidentally moves the international community
and builds a momentum toward peace. The photo, which came to be
known simply as “the flag,” shows soldiers from conflicting forces
joining hands to hoist a flag in a sacred place. The photo is wired
all over the world and becomes a symbol of hope for the peace
believers, fermenting antiwar feelings in both the government and
the guerillas.

However, just as the both parties are engaged in the final-stage negotiations to reach a cease-fire,
some radical insurgents who want more blood take the flag by force, endangering the peace process.
The UN keeps the fact out of the media and decides to take the flag back secretly before the planned
cease-fire date. The special force SDC (Special Development Command, dubbed Sea Duck) is
dispatched for this difficult task. The SDC is trained to use the HAVWC
(High Agility Versatile Weapon Carrier, dubbed Havic), the state-of-the-art weapon co-developed by
the UN and the United States. The UN shows its strong will to achieve peace by deploying a special team.

Moreover, the UN decides to “embed” a neutral person in the team as an observer to show later to the
world that the sole aim of the operation is achieving peace. The members of the SDC learn a surprising
fact that the observer is the very photographer that took the picture of “the flag”...
